BATON ROUGE - Family members said they're distraught after two men fought and killed each other in Baton Rouge this weekend.

According to police, 32-year-old Lester Reed and 19-year-old Tevin Crump killed each other during an argument Sunday night in the 5300 block of Washington Court.

The two men's relatives told News 2 Crump was dating Reed's sister, and the argument started when Reed's mother asked Crump to leave their home. When he didn't leave, police said the men fought and Reed stabbed Crump several times with a kitchen knife.

Crump then shot Reed, and both men died from their wounds according to investigators.

"It's right before Thanksgiving," Reed's cousin, Kyeshia Chambres said. "We love him so much. He was a friend and a good brother, cousin to all of us. We are going to miss him a lot."

WBRZ checked both men's criminal histories. Crump had a prior arrest for domestic violence.  Reed had an drug charge.

"He was trying to get things established to go further in life," Chambres said. "He did some things, turned his life around and gave his life to God."

No one was at Crump's residence this afternoon.

News 2's Chris Nakamoto will have more reaction from the Reed family tonight starting at 4 p.m.
