Exclusive: Wife of jailed "Sons of Guns" star talks about arrest
BATON ROUGE - Rachel Hayden, the wife of "Sons of Guns" reality show star William Hayden, said her husband is innocent of child sex charges that were filed against him Tuesday.
"I would have known," she said about the situation. Rachel Hayden believes she is close enough with the young victim, that the child would have reported issues to her. "I do believe that she would have told me," said Rachel.
Deputies arrested William Hayden for a second time Tuesday afternoon on new charges of aggravated rape. Less than three weeks earlier, he was booked on child molestation charges. Both cases involve the same 12-year-old girl.
"I don't know how long these allegations go back," Rachel said, "but I know it definitely was not happening when we were together."
When the first charges were filed, William Hayden told WBRZ the charges were false. He claimed they were created by a woman who used to work for him. He said he was trying to get his family through a difficult time.
"It's something that might stick with us for the rest of our lives," Rachel Hayden said.
Hayden's lawyer told News Two he was unable to see his client Tuesday.
Late Tuesday evening, Hayden's bond was set at $250,000.
