Ethics law rules health chief's husband can't take promotion
BATON ROUGE - Ethics considerations are preventing a promotion for the husband of a member of Gov. Bobby Jindal's cabinet.
Louisiana's Ethics Board says Kathy Kliebert's position as chief of the state health department will prevent a job promotion for her husband, Lynn Kliebert.
Lynn Kliebert is assistant chief financial officer of Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. He was being considered for the newly vacant chief financial officer's job.
But the board advised that, because Teche Regional receives Medicaid payments and is regulated by the department, Lynn Kliebert cannot hold the chief financial officer position.
Kleibert says that her husband will not take the new job.
