Drivers must obey new speed limit on busy street
BATON ROUGE- The speed limit has changed on Staring Lane.
New signs alerting drivers to the now 35 mph speed limit have been stalled. The change came when neighbors complained the four-laned thoroughfare's 40 mph speed limit was too high.
"Everyone knows, with the posted speed limit everyone's going to drive five miles per hour at least faster than what the posted speed limit is," resident Chris LaCaze said. He called Staring a race track.
Earlier in September, city leaders agreed to lower the speed limit.
