Downed power lines cause loss of power, Highway 19 closure
BAKER - About five miles of Highway 19 closed Friday afternoon after a round of severe weather knocked power lines to the ground.
A traffic advisory reported the closure shortly before 3 p.m. Authorities said the highway between Harding and Groom was closed as crews cleared the lines from the street. A small amount of traffic was beginning to build.
A few hundred people lost power as a result of the issue, the Entergy website reported.
The roadway was reopened around 4 p.m.
