Diamond in the rough
MURFREESBORO, ARKANSAS- A woman from Colorado made the discovery of a lifetime in Arkansas.
It was an 8.52 carat diamond at the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Its the fifth largest diamond found since the park opened in 1972.
There is no value placed on the find because of park policy. It was named Esperanza Diamond for Bobbie Oskarson niece. Oskarson found it.
The rock is described as about three-quarters of an inch long and as big around as a standard number 2 pencil.
The largest diamond found at the park was 16.37 carats.
