The Courier reports the incident occurred Oct. 15 at the Louis Infant Crisis Center, which was founded and operated by Sister Rosario O'Connell.
Capt. Dawn Foret of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office says O'Connell was helping a resident with his homework when he refused to do the work. Foret says she told the boy his privileges would be taken away for the night and as she walked away, the boy tackled her into a wall.
O'Connell died Wednesday. She was 87.
The name of the juvenile was not released because of his age. He currently faces a charge of second-degree battery.
