Cows escape, cause stir at LSU
BATON ROUGE - LSU Police said an unsecured gate let a half-dozen cows get loose from a barn on the campus Sunday night.
Capt. Cory Lalonde said the cows were recovered in less than an hour, but not before wandering down near Sorority Row.
One adventurous bovine was found hanging out near the Lod Cook Alumni Center.
The escaped cattle were also a hit on social media, leading some students to post updates and pictures with the herd under the hashtag #LSUcowhunt.
The show cows belonged to the 4H Youth Development Organization and the FFA.
