Couple found dead in Louisiana home
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in Louisiana are investigating the death of a couple found in their home over the weekend.
The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office told news outlets that 72-year-old Walter Joseph Gotreaux and 70-year-old Darlene Cecelia Gotreaux were found dead in their home near the town of Iowa on Sunday when officers went to check on them. Deputies and investigators from the nearby Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office worked through Sunday night examining evidence and talking with people who knew the couple.
Investigators have not said how the victims died. Sheriff Ivey Woods said Monday the investigation is still in its early stages. No arrests have been made.
Walter Gotreaux was a former president of the Lake Charles chapter of the Cajun French Music Association.
