Coroner names man seen shot by Los Angeles deputies on video
LYNWOOD - The Los Angeles County coroner's office has identified the man shot by sheriff's deputies as Nicholas Robertson, 28, of Lynwood.
Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies killed Robertson in a shooting captured on video that appears to show a man being hit with gunfire as he walked away from the deputies.
The deputies were responding Saturday to reports of a man walking in Lynwood and firing a gun into the air around 11 a.m., Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said in a statement.
When the deputies encountered the man in front of a gas station, they ordered him to drop the gun but he did not comply.
The video shows the deputies firing several rounds after the man fell and crawled on the ground. He died at the scene.
An autopsy is pending.
