Child dies after reported near-drowning in Pointe Coupee Parish

FORDOCHE - Authorities say a 3-year-old has died after a reported near-drowning on last week.

The incident was reported around 4:45 p.m. Thursday on Bonnett Drive in Fordoche. The Pointe Coupee Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the child died Saturday.

The sheriff says the girl apparently drowned in a neighbor's pool.
