Cause of early morning house fire under investigation
BATON ROUGE- The Red Cross is assisting a Baton Rouge family this morning after a fire destroyed their home.
The fire occurred at a residence in the 1800 block of Mullen Avenue. Authorities said the fire was called in by a neighbor.
At the scene crews could see flames coming through the roof of the home. All fire damage was contained to the home and did not spread to nearby houses.
The St. George Fire Department, who worked the blaze, says no one was injured.
Firefighters also say that the one person who was home at the time of the fire made it out safely. The home is a total loss and authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
