Bridge inspection to close La. 73 next week
PRAIRIEVILLE - Highway 73 between Ascension Parish and East Baton Rouge will be closed at the end of the morning rush next Thursday.
The state issued the traffic advisory Tuesday afternoon. The portion of the highway that will be closed will be over Bayou Manchac. Crews will be inspecting the bridge, the state said.
The state classified the inspection as routine.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday and last until noon on August 13.
The bridge, built in 1931, handles about 12,000 vehicles a day.
