BRFD investigating third vacant house fire since Monday night
BATON ROUGE - Fire investigators with BRFD are currently investigating three vacant house fires in Baton Rouge since Monday night. At least two were caused by arson.
The latest fire broke out Tuesday morning just after 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 5300 block of Monarch Avenue. Crews arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze before the home suffered any fire or smoke damage. The cause is still under investigation.
Crews already determined arson was the cause of fires at an abandoned home at Cotton and St. Joseph, off Terrace near Highland Road Monday night, as well as another in the 4300 block of Jefferson Ave. early Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information about either fire should contact fire investigators at (225)354-1419.
