BREC unveils new playground equipment at Baker park ribbon cutting
BAKER - BREC officials are to hold a ribbon cutting on Friday morning to celebrate the completion of renovations and new amenities at T.D. Bickham, Jr. Park.
The park is located at 6850 Pettit Road with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 10 a.m.
Improvements at the BREC park include new playground equipment with a play area for young children and tot swings. Another new play area features six climbers, two slides and an arch swing. A new half basketball court was also added along with renovations to a picnic shelter. New connector walkways make recently added and old features alike more accessible to park visitors.
BREC says T.D. Bickham is just one of the parks receiving renovations in the immediate area. Scotlandville Park now has a new disc golf park where a grand opening will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6. Park officials will also hold a grand opening at Anna T. Jordan Community park after renovations are complete this fall.
