BRCC and SU connect with 'Bears 2 Jaguars' partnership
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Community College students now have the option to seamlessly transfer to Southern University thanks to the new "Bears 2 Jaguars" academic partnership that was signed on Thursday.
The agreement between the two schools was signed during a ceremony on Southern's campus with BRCC Chancellor Dr. Andrea Lewis Miller, SU Acting Chancellor Flandus Mclinton and other administrators in attendance.
"Bears 2 Jaguars" will provide greater educational resources for students and ease the overall process of transfer between the community college and the university.
With the new agreement in place, students who complete BRCC's political science, psychology, history, criminal justice, business and military science associate degrees can be admitted to SU with junior status.
Students in the program will also gain access to additional perks in the form of access to the SU library and campus parking privileges. They will also be allowed entrance into certain Jaguar sports events.
For more information on the program, contact LaTonya Scott at (225) 216-8106 or Edward Pratt at (225) 771-4545.
