GONZALES - Police are looking for a team of four suspects who made off with diamonds and cash after a Tuesday morning jewelry store heist in Gonzales.

According to investigators, four individuals entered the business in the 1000 block of N. Airline Hwy at around 10:50 a.m. and used the ruse of having a medallion worked on to wait until all of the customers left the store. Once the jewelry store was clear, the foursome drew pistols and ordered the four on-duty employees to get on the ground.

Gonzales Police say an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the register and safe after the suspects forced an employee to unlock them. An undisclosed amount of diamond jewelry that was held within a glass display case was also among the loot.

Detectives said the team was composed of three men and one woman. They fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle and headed in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact the Gonzales Police Department at (225) 647-9536.
