BATON ROUGE - Bishop Robert W. Muench appointed Father Tom Ranzino to the position of Vicar General for the diocese Sunday. He will replace Father Than Vu who passed away in January. Father Ranzino will continue to serve as pastor of St. Jean Vianney Church in Baton Rouge.

The diocese says said Father Ju Hyung "Paul" Yi will take the chancellor seat for the diocese. He currently serves as the pastor at Ascension of Our Lord Church and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Donaldsonville and co-chaplain of Ascension Catholic Regional High School.

The new positions will be effective on Monday.

Bishop Muench also appointed Father Randy Cuevas as pastor of St. Aloysius Church in Baton Rouge. Father Cuevas is currently the pastor at St. Albert the Great Chapel and Catholic Student Center in Hammond and will assume his position in the St. Aloysius community on July 1.
