'Best dressed bandit' wanted after robbery, kidnapping
PORT ALLEN - Sheriff's deputies said a well-dressed man robbed a gas station Tuesday morning in West Baton Rouge Parish and kidnapped a clerk at gunpoint, later releasing her unharmed.
Deputies said the man, wearing a tie and dress slacks, held up the Chevron station at 111 Lobdell Highway at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators said the man took money and forced the manager into a black car at gunpoint, releasing her in Baton Rouge near Ozark and Plank Road.
Surveillance footage showed the getaway car was a black four-door sedan, and deputies said it was driven by a woman.
WBRSO Detective Kevin Cyrus called the pair a "Bonny and Clyde-type" duo, and said the man was one of the best-dressed robbers they'd seen.
