Baton Rouge mother and son charged with filing false tax returns
BATON ROUGE- A woman and her son are facing 40 counts together of suspected fraud.
Madie Langley and her son Darin Langley were both arrested for filing false tax returns. Both work as tax preparers at Matrix Computers and Tax Services in Baton Rouge.
Investigators found tax returns submitted by the mother and her son team had suspicious information, showing a false business and false business losses.
The Department of Revenue encourages taxpayers to be selective when choosing a tax preparer.
