Authorities say missing friends killed during attempted carjacking
PEARL RIVER- Authorities say two friends were shot and killed during an attempted carjacking.
Raegan Elizabeth Day, 20, and Dustin Hartline, 28, had been missing since Feb. 15.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith told news outlets that a dive team found their bodies at the East Pearl River Boat Launch near the Mississippi state line on Monday.
Four people have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Those arrested include 18-year-old Jason Landry, 25-year-old Brittney "Beezy" Savell, 22-year-old Derrion Lemoine, and 27-year-old Steven "Stevie" Olivieri.
An investigation determined that after leaving their residence on Feb. 15, Day and Hartline went under false pretense to a residence on Salmen Avenue in Slidell. At some point, the suspects attempted to carjack the victims with the intent of stealing Day's Camaro.
