Authorities: 10-month-old boy killed in shooting in Marrero
NEW ORLEANS - Authorities say a shooting has claimed the life of a 10-month-old boy and left a man wounded in the New Orleans area.
NOLA.com reports the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says it happened late Saturday afternoon in Marrero. The sheriff's office says at least five people were inside a home when someone entered the front door around 4:30 p.m. and began shooting.
Sheriff's office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said deputies found the 10-month-old boy, Xyahir Davis, and a man thought to in his early 20s with multiple gunshot wounds.
He said Davis was pronounced dead at West Jefferson Medical Center. The man, whose identity hasn't been released, was treated at University Medical Center and was in serious condition.
