Ascension Parish man arrested for boating hit and run
ST. AMANT- A man from Ascension Parish, accused in a boating hit and run in Livingston Parish last month, is now behind bars.
This morning, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents arrested Thomas Amorello.
Agents say Amorello, of St. Amant, was driving his ski boat on the Amite River Diversion Canal, when he rear ended and ran over another ski boat.
Three passengers that were in the boat that was run over, were treated for minor injuries.
Agents tracked down Amorello and seized his boat.
He was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on mulitiple charges including felony hit and run and negligent injury.
