PRAIRIEVILLE - Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish are looking for two suspects behind the attempted robbery of a Prairieville Smoothie King last Friday.

Deputies said two men entered the business, located on Highway 73, and placed an order. One of the men began an argument with the cashier over the price of an ordered item, which allowed the second man time to slip into the back office. Once in the back office, surveillance cameras captured the man as he attempted to open the store safe.

Employees spotted the man as he left the office, and he reportedly later walked through the parking lot of Dutchtown Primary School. He was seen getting into the front passenger side of a white sedan with chrome rims, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the suspect agruing with the employee was wearing a red collared shirt, while the attempted safecracker was wearing a purple baseball cap and a white collared shirt.

Anyone with information on the attempted theft is urged to contact the APSO at (225) 621-4636.
