1 dead, 3 hurt as car jumps LA freeway, hits homeless camp
LOS ANGELES - There's no word on what caused a car to shoot off the side of the Los Angeles freeway and land on a homeless encampment, crushing to death a woman and injuring three people inside the car.
The California Highway Patrol says the Honda sedan went over the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 405 in Van Nuys early Tuesday evening.
It ran about 20 feet down an embankment and hit the homeless encampment.
