1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting near NOPD headquarters
NEW ORLEANS - One man was killed and another injured in a shooting that happened near the headquarters of New Orleans Police and the Criminal Court Friday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.
WWL-TV reported police are on the lookout now for a silver pickup truck and were checking in at local businesses in the area to see if there was available surveillance footage that may have captured any significant details.
Reports indicate that the injured person is a 32-year-old man who is employed by the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. The victim who died is an unidentified 29-year-old man, according to WWL-TV.
The shooting, that happened near Tulane Avenue and South Broad Street, closed the nearby Broad Street overpass for nearly two hours as police began the investigation.
