BATON ROUGE - Four major candidates are vying to be Louisiana's next governor. Here's a brief look at their education and political backgrounds: 

SCOTT ANGELLE 

-Age: 53
-Hometown: Breaux Bridge
-Party: Republican
-Religion: Catholic
-Family: Married with five children and two grandchildren.
-Education: Bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
-Political jobs: Member of the St. Martin Parish Police Jury from 1988 to 2000; St. Martin Parish president from 2000 to 2004; Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources from 2004 to 2012; Interim lieutenant governor in 2010; Gov. Bobby Jindal's chief legislative lobbyist from 2009 to 2012; Member of Public Service Commission from 2013 to the present.

 -Age: 61
-Hometown: Baton Rouge 
-Party: Republican
-Religion: Jewish
-Family: Married with two children.
-Education: Bachelor's degree from LSU; Law degree from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
-Political jobs: Member of the Baton Rouge Metro Council from 1988 to 1992; Louisiana state senator from 1992 to 2006; Secretary of State from 2006 to 2010; Lieutenant governor from 2010 to the present.

-Hometown: Roseland
-Party: Democrat
-Religion: Catholic
-Family: Married with three children.
-Education: Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point; Law degree from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
-Political jobs: Member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2008 to the present.
-Military experience: U.S. Army from 1988 to 1996.
