Weed, meth, guns found during various drug arrests
DENHAM SPRINGS- Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies made six arrests and netted thousands of dollars worth of drugs during three separate incidents across the parish.
On Monday in French Settlement, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Mitchell Road, where they found Keith Whetstine, 51, and a battered Amber Smith, 32.
During the incident deputies noticed growing marijuana and seized nearly $50,000 worth of plants.
Whetstine was charged with domestic abuse and cultivation of marijuana. Smith was charged with cultivation.
On Tuesday, deputies teamed up with the St. Bernard Sheriff's office and searched the home of Dustin Hood, 32, on Maple Street in Denham Springs.
Investigators found weed, meth and a gun.
Hood was charged with possession of drugs and also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Another man, Derek Acosta, 30, was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Then on Thursday, deputies raided a home on Chapel Hill Road in the Watson area.
Investigators found more than an ounce of weed, oxycodone pills and several guns.
Deputies charged Joseph Howze, 31, and Christen Bossier, 29, with possession as well as illegal use of drugs in the presence of a minor.
Sheriff Jason Ard said anyone with tips on drug activity should contact the sheriff's office so they can investigate.
