WATCH: these football players have no sportsmanship
KENTWOOD- The Tangipahoa Parish School System said Wednesday, students involved in a fight at last Friday's Sumner vs. Loranger high school football game have been disciplined.
A number of players fought immediately after the game ended while they were lined up to shake the hands of the other team. No one was transported to the hospital, although witnesses said the brawl seemed out-of-control.
The system's superintendent said the principals and head coaches from each school met and decided on punishments based on the Louisiana High School Athletic Association guidelines.
This is the latest debacle involving high school football. Recently, coaches at Destrehan High School were reprimanded for accessing the online playbook of an opposing team. Near Morgan City, two West St. Mary High School football players are expected to face charges after they punched a referee. The ref filed charges against them and the boys could be expelled from school.
