Walkthrough of new Lee High School
BATON ROUGE – After two years of construction, Lee High School will open its door to students for the new school year.
Some students were so excited that they were already using the gym when WBRZ's Natalia Verdina got a tour of the new facility.
"We're very excited," one Lee High Junior said. "It looks like a college," he said.
That is the same feel the school is going for, according to Lee High School principal Nanette McCann.
"Our mission is for students to find the path of what they want to do in life," McCann said.
McCann said that the state-of-the-art facilities will make all the difference to students.
"This is a great room so we have all of our brand new apple computers here, where students learn film and editing," McCann said.
A T.V. studio is also available to students, and just a few door down are engineering and bio-medical classes.
"If you want to be an engineer and you can find out early and enter college with two years under your belt, then you can do so much more," McCann said.
