'Virtual' public school gets 'real' results
BATON ROUGE - The controversial school voucher system has received all the media attention; but parents and students have another option few parents know about, the virtual public school.
Louisiana Connections Academy is a virtual public school with an enrollment of 1200 students and a growing waiting list. The classrooms are virtual but the education is real. Some of the students attended private school and now learn at home. Other students have special needs or were bullied at a brick and mortar schools. Caroline Wood, the school's principal, puts it like this, "However you come to us. How am I going to make sure that you are as successful as you can possibly be."
