Valentine's Day marriages are up this year
BATON ROUGE- Marriages on the most romantic holiday, are up in Baton Rouge.
Justice of the Peace, Moses Evans, said his phone has been ringing off the hook in a single day he's married 12 couples.
For Valentine's week this year, 56 couples got their marriage licenses, that's seven more than this week last year.
Mr. and Mrs. Byrd said they picked this day because it's very special to them, their daughter turns two on Valentine's Day. Others say they wanted to make the holiday extra special.
"I really want it to be special, something to remember. So we're not going to forget. 2-14-2014. It's a day of sharing love, spread the love," said Lacosha Banks Thomas.
