Trucks stolen from used car lot
WALKER - Two diesel 4x4 trucks were stolen from Boardwalk Motors after thieves broke in, stole the vehicles' keys and took off.
The company's general manager, Jay Smith, said it happened Saturday night at the used car lot off of Walker South Road. The steering columns on three other Dodge trucks were also damaged.
"It's completely shattered in there," Smith explained, pointing to a truck's badly-damaged steering column and ignition. "They couldn't get the mechanism to turn over, and even if they did get it to turn, these have the computer chips in them and they will not start."
Smith said those responsible then shattered a window and broke in to steal keys. They got away with a Ford and a Dodge.
The car lot is offering a $5,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
