Trouble over high school football stadium

Related Story

BATON ROUGE- Neighbors of a football stadium have been complaining about issues the stadium generates and met with city and school leaders about the issue Monday.

People who live in Natchez Trace, off Siegen Lane, said Dunham High School's home field is noisy and draws too much of a crowd into their neighborhood.

One city leader said there is a real issue with where the press box is positioned, and the school is working to correct it.

"The press box was built without a permit. It's basically located in the buffer zone," said Councilman Chandler Loupe. "They didn't obtain the proper permit to build the press box. So, we're trying to work through those issues," he added.

Neighbors were happy with the outcome of Monday night's meeting.

"It was very amicable," Cheryl Payne said. "They want to be good neighbors and we want to be good neighbors."
The school is making some changes to this week's home game to make the neighbors happier.

"We made a list of things that need to be addressed and we'll do our best to address those issues," the school's headmaster, Bobby Welch, said.
