Top "ate" tips for surviving Thanksgiving
BATON ROUGE - Registered Dietitian Kristen Gradney with the American Heart association gave us tips on how to keep eating under control on Thanksgiving on News 2 at 4. She said just because it's Thanksgiving doesn't mean your diet has to go out the window.
Gradney said eating beforehand can help you save on the calories and not be as tempted to eat as much with guests. She also suggested staying active during the holidays, and don't use them as an excuse to skip workouts. Other options she mentioned were staying hydrated and making your own low calorie-dish to bring to a guest's house.
She did say it is OK to treat yourself, that you don't have to spend all your time obsessing about calories. Moderation is key.
