Things to know before having plastic surgery
BATON ROUGE- Doctor J. Anthony Stephens, M.D., talked about the things you need to know or ask before you schedule a consultation for plastic surgery.
He recommends getting to know who your surgeon is. That includes making sure the doctor is certified by a board approved by the American Board of Medical Specialist, and seeing how familiar they are with your particular problem.
Stephens recommends talking with them about where the procedure will be performed, what happen if you have complications and who will be responsible for the cost. He also suggests asking for pictures from prior procedures they've performed, and getting the total cost in advance.
If you have any questions or topics for Dr. Stephens to talk about, email them to Rosa Flores at RFlores@WBRZ.com.
