Thanksgiving dinner made easy
BATON ROUGE - One Baton Rouge business has solved the kitchen conundrum for a Thanksgiving feast.
Bellue's Fine Cajun Cuisine has dinner down to a science with every seasoning and spice down to the gram. The food is cooked and then vacuum sealed. You just need to boil the bag for 15-20 minutes and it's ready to serve.
"It's a lot easier than making it yourself, and it's really, really good," said Bellue's employee Renae Williams. "They don't have any pots to clean or scrub. There's no prep time. Just heat it and serve it, and then if you're fortunate to get some nice paper plates it's really good."
Bellue's offers entrees like turkey and 16 different sides. The business aims to make cooking for a large number of people an ease.
"If we had 100 people to feed within the next hour we'd know how many bags of food it takes to feed 100. We'd drop it in 180 degree water...twenty minutes and we'd put it on the plate," said owner Wirt Bellue.
Bellue's serves Thanksgiving style food year round. It's too late to get an order in for Thanksgiving, but Christmas is just four weeks away.
