BAKER - Police said the drunk driver in a hit-and-run wreck last night in Baker shouldn't have been behind the wheel at all.

Officers arrested Jamar Jackson, 34, on suspicion of hitting two women with his vehicle so hard that pieces of clothing were found stuck in its windshield.

Investigators said Kristy Hasty, 31, is in critical condition after the incident while Amy Gibson, 29, is stable.

Baker Police said Jackson's criminal history stretches back to 2003. It includes charges of unauthorized entry of a home, simple battery, resisting an officer and issuing worthless checks.

Police said his license was suspended when the wreck happened, and he also faces charges of driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run.
