Surveillance video shows high-speed Ascension Parish chase that ended in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE - Two have been arrested on numerous charges after a lengthy chase involving Ascension Parish deputies and state troopers came to an end in Baton Rouge.

The pursuit began when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle with an expired tag and no taillights on Airline Highway in Gonzales. The vehicle took off from the officers and deputies made chase, with Louisiana State Police soon joining in.

As the vehicle made its way to Cedar Ridge Drive, the passenger jumped out in an attempt to escape. He was later apprehended.

The driver continued on past the parish line and into Baton Rouge, where a home's surveillance video captured a glimpse of the pursuit as vehicle sped through a neighborhood.

The chase finally came to an end at the intersection of Florida and Broadmoor after the vehicle left the roadway. The driver attempted to correct his vehicle but was taken into custody.

Deputies searched the vehicle and located a backpack filled with syringes, two digital scales, and several other drug paraphernalia items.

The driver and passenger were identified as 26-year-old Litzan Reyes-Fuigueredo of Baton Rouge, and 26-year-old Carlos Delatorre of Baton Rouge, respectively.

Both were arrested on a myriad of charges including aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer and numerous drug charges.

Both men were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
