Storm snaps trees, knocks out power in West Feliciana
ST. FRANCISVILLE - A few hundred people are still without power in West Feliciana Parish after storms rolled through the area Monday morning.
As the storm made its way through the parish some residents took shelter only to find that debris trapped them inside their neighborhood without power. A fallen tree shut down Graham Road and the only way in and out for around 100 residents.
"I just started pacing like oh God what's getting ready to happen," said resident Kathy Anderson. "They've got lines down. People are trying to figure out what to do on Graham Road. They can't go anywhere."
DEMCO and parish crews cleared the roadway after the storm, but another fallen tree over on Tunica Street took out a parked car. Emergency responders with the parish say that's the worst of what happened.
Parish leaders say everything should be back to normal by Tuesday morning.
