BATON ROUGE- Wednesday night, the American Queen docked downtown and its 20 minute mooring was caught on video by the WBRZ tower cam, perched hundreds of feet above the city.

The steamboat has been paddling up and down the Mississippi, stopping in Baton Rouge, since 2012. Each stop in the Capital City brings hundreds of tourists.

Cruises can last either eight or nine days take passengers along the river between Memphis and New Orleans.  Stops also include St. Francisville and plantations and numerous other locations in Mississippi.

Rates to cruise start at about $2500.

The American Queen is said to be the largest ever built, according to its website.  Inside, staterooms and parlors are set in the American Victorian era.

The nearly half-hour docking process has been sped up into a 25 second clip, attached to this story.
