Stand Up for our Youth
PLAQUEMINE - Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church is Standing Up for our Youth this weekend with a new youth program.
Ministers Demetre Jackson and Jeffrey Nelson joined us on 2une In this morning with more information. They say the program is designed to help children and teenagers who are struggling with which path to take in life understand that God has a plan for them.
Min. Jackson says, "The goal is to reach out and bring the youth back into the church, because a lot of the things going on in the community are happening because the church isn't involved".
Min. Nelson echoed that belief.
"We need people to stand up and show youth that we're there for them," he explained. "If no one stands for them, they won't be able to come and join us in the church and feel embraced."
Standing Up for our Youth starts at 6:00 p.m. this Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Plaquemine.
