Spurrier shines at SEC Media Days
HOOVER, Ala. - South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier is known for speaking his mind and throwing out some verbal gems at SEC Media Days.
This year he didn't disappoint again, as the coach offered some interesting ideas when it comes to paying college players for their efforts.
He suggested in his quip-filled address that SEC coaches were unanimous in thinking football players should get about $300 per game, and basketball players slightly less. He also said the coaches were each willing to pony up the $280,000 or so it would cost.
