BATON ROUGE- Exclusive video News 2 obtained of Former Southern System President Ralph Slaughter showed him accepting a lawsuit from a West Baton Rouge Parish Deputy Friday. Today, we have a better idea of what was in those court papers.

The Southern System Foundation wants Ralph Slaughter to pay back $150,000 it claims was paid to his attorney to file legal action against Southern University. A judge ordered Slaughter ro repay $475,000 to the Foundation last year.

Documents News 2 obtained show Slaughter transferred most of his assets into his wife's name, Shalonda Slaughter. Among some of the items transferred were their house in the Stratford Place subdivision, a Mercedes-Benz, GMC Yukon and part of Slaugther's retirement.

"I don't owe Southern any money," Slaughter said on Friday.

It happened moments before he was served with another lawsuit. When asked if he was going to repay Southern, he replied "No sir, that's why we have the legal process."

In the lawsuit against Slaugther where the Southern System Foundation is seeking $150,000. attorneys claim Slaughter misappropriated the money.

Part of the lawsuit reads - "Ralph Slaughter is liable to the foundation for the $150,000 of Foundation funds he misappropriated to pay his attorney, Jill Craft, in 2007 to sue Southern University in breach of his fiduciary duties to the foundation."

Slaughter is currently the unpaid Chief of Staff for the City of Port Allen. His sister-in-law, Mayor Deedy Slaughter, appointed him to the position after he paid for a trip to Washington D.C. to the President's inauguration. However, Deedy Slaughter submitted the expense reports for the trip to city. They claim it was justified because they said she met with Senator Mary Landrieu, but Landrieu would not substantiate claims about that meeting.
