Some hope lessons from MLK can curb BR violence
BATON ROUGE- On a day when many people are remembering the messages of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., some say his lessons about peace are being lost in Baton Rouge's violence.
The East Baton Rouge Parish murder count rose to eight over the weekend. It keeps pace with last year's totals for the first few weeks of the year.
EBR resident George Joseph told News 2 people are doing the exact opposite of Dr. King's message of peace. He says there is too much feuding and killing in Baton Rouge.
Felton Hogan says God's grace is at the heart of King's work. He says parents are not dealing with children and teaching them the Bible. Hogan says if you do not live according to the Bible, society's problems grow.
