Skin cancer awareness inspires 5k
BATON ROUGE - With May as Skin Cancer Awareness Month, one foundation is putting on a 5k run to bring attention to the disease.
The Lauren Savoy Olinde Foundation is putting on the 2014 Hat Run to promote skin cancer awareness. The event is May 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and includes music, food and a 5k run/walk.
Physicians will be offering a free skin cancer screening at the Hat Run. To register, please go to lsofoundation.org.
