Road work on North Sherwood Forrest Boulevard
BATON ROUGE- Emergency pothole repairs are underway on North Sherwood Forrest Boulevard.
The East Baton Rouge Department of Public Works started working on a two mile stretch of boulevard between Choctaw Dr. and Greenwell Springs Rd.
After several complaints of busted rims and tires, DPW decided to fix the holes.
"Potholes, ripping in asphalt, and then they started growing. And the more people drive on it, they start to grow more. I patched them a lot, at a certain point, you can't patch," said DPW director, David Guillory.
The repairs will cause some traffic delays but residents say that's something they're willing to deal with.
"For the safety of people going down the road, blew out a tire and end up in a ditch or knock the wheel off their car, they were pretty big," said resident Tom McGrew.
The $75,000 dollar project should be complete by the end of the week.
