Ricks given deadline to pay contractor
DENHAM SPRINGS- The Livingston Parish Council told President Layton Ricks to pay contractor C-Del, despite objections from some.
It is part of ongoing controversy concerning debris removal after Hurricane Gustav in 2008. C-Del owner Corey Delahoussaye was the environmental consultant for former President Mike Grimmer. The parish delayed paying Delahoussaye after after allegations he over-billed the parish.
Delahoussaye's attorney, Jill Craft, says her client is owed the money which totals near $380 thousand dollars. Craft says Delahoussaye kept tight records on his activities for the parish.
She says there is no indication Ricks will pay the money, possibly leading to more court fights.
