Potential flooding in lower Livingston Parish
MAUREPAS - The threat of more rain could mean trouble for people living in lower Livingston Parish.
The area is still trying to dry out from last month's heavy rain, when some homes ended up with a foot of water inside.
Since Sunday two to three inches of rain have fallen in the area. With that much rain, places like French Settlement and Maurepas are expected to flood.
Some people spent their Mardi Gras preparing for that possibility.
"I start trying to run through a mental prep in my head. Make sure I have nothing in the yard that's going to float off or get ruined. I try to keep everything up," says David Badeaux.
The Amite River is expected to crest Sunday at 5 feet.
