Police say teen pastor admitted to molesting children

BATON ROUGE - Members of the Baton Rouge Police said a teenage pastor admitted to detectives recently that he molested more than a dozen children over a period of several years.

Baton Rouge Police charged 18-year-old Kentrell Jackson with indecent behavior with a juvenile and booked him into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday.

Officers said they were called to a family disturbance after midnight Sunday morning and told that a 12-year-old girl told her parents Jackson had "touched her." Detectives said the girl told them Jackson came into her room earlier and told her brother to get out, then started rubbing the girl on her bottom and chest. The girl said when Jackson stopped she ran to tell her parents.

Detectives said Jackson was not at the home when they arrived, but he later met with police and admitted to touching the girl. Police said Jackson also admitted he had touched about 18 other children the same way, starting when he was 8 years old. Jackson said he also admitted to sexual acts with some of the children.

Police said Jackson told them the children were all between the ages of 6 and 13, and that some of the victims were members of the church where he was a pastor.

Jackson is being held in the EBR Jail on a $30,000 bond. The BRPD Special Victims Unit said in his arrest affidavit they are working to identify Jackson's other victims, and further charges could come from that.
